🌟 Happy Imbolc! 🌟

Happy Imbolc!

Imbolc begins at sundown on February 1 and concludes on the evening of February 2 in the Northern Hemisphere.

Conversely, Lugnasadah is celebrated if you live in the Southern Hemisphere.

If you didn't read my email about spring celebrations, Imbolc, Imbolg, or Omiele is the cross-quarter day at the midpoint halfway between the winter solstice (Yule) and the spring equinox (Ostara). In the ancient Celtic tradition, it is considered the first day of spring.

Imbolc is a traditional spring fire festival that celebrates the rising sun and marks the beginning of spring. In contrast, Lugnasadah celebrates the start of the harvest season halfway between the summer solstice and the fall autumnal equinox.

Several other holidays occur at or around the same time as Imbolc: St Brigid's Day, Candlemas, Feast of Torches, Lupercalia, Feast of Pan, Feast of Waxing Lights, Snowdrop Festival, Feast of the Waxing Light, and Groundhog Day.

Although these holidays share seasonal similarities, they have historical, cultural, and religious differences.

Learn more about these traditional spring celebrations and discover fun ways to celebrate here--> Imbolc Traditions.

You may also enjoy this list of fun and educational shadow activities, perfect for celebrating Groundhog Day.

If it's raining where you live, like it is where I do, try the rainy-day activities on this list of fun things to do inside and outside when it rains!

I hope you enjoy the late winter and early spring, no matter what the weather brings!

That's it for now,

Nell
