Hey there, How many signs of summer (or winter) have you noticed so far in your neck of the woods? As one season gives way to the next, it is a great time to pay attention to your surroundings and look for the signs that summer has arrived. Some of the signs of the next season's arrival will differ slightly depending on where you live. Others, such as a rise in summer temperatures or colder winters, are universal. According to the Gregorian calendar, summer (or winter) won’t officially arrive until the solstice on Friday, June 20th–but you can find subtle clues that summer is not far away if you pay attention. Use the Signs of Summer (or Winter) printable scavenger hunt, with a variety of clues, to help you identify some of these signs. The clues include signs of summer you can see, hear, and smell, engaging your senses and helping you hone your observational skills. Some clues that summer is on the way are hard to miss, while other signs require keen eyes, ears, and noses. As shown in the photo below, I updated the printable Signs of Summer Scavenger Hunt to include a landscape version last year. Alternatively, you can use this summer scavenger hunt, which includes pictures of each summer-themed item, to make it easier for toddlers, preschoolers, and kindergarteners who have not yet learned to read to join in the fun. There is also a winter version available for those of you who live south of the equator. However, it still needs to be updated to the current version. I meant to do it during my winter break, but the holidays made that impossible, so I will get it updated for you this summer. Members of the Rhythms of PLAY CLUB (and those with access to these printables) can find each seasonal scavenger hunt printable in their dashboard in the Rhythms of Play Learning Center. Log in and look for them in the Nature Scavenger Hunt Library! With joy,
