I love to share arts, crafts, DIY projects, nature activities and seasonal celebration ideas for kids (and the young at heart). We believe in the wonder of childhood, the power of imagination, learning through play, getting outside in all seasons, and co-creating a life you love--one rhythm at a time!

Hello Reader, Increase feelings of joy, gratitude, and abundance at home, school, or in the workplace, with a gratitude or Thankful Tree! A gratitude tree, also known as a thankful tree, is a simple and meaningful way to reflect on the things that bring joy, comfort, or purpose to our lives. You don’t need a specific holiday to create a gratitude tree. Although many people in the United States and Canada associate the tradition of the thankful tree with Thanksgiving, it is not limited to any specific holiday. Instead, it can become a lovely fall tradition in your home, meant to bring meaning and happiness during darker times, as it has in ours. Creating one in the winter, spring, or summer can be just as meaningful. A gratitude tree can be a family activity, a classroom project, or a workplace tradition. It can also serve as a personal ritual, helping you slow down and reconnect with what truly matters, especially during busy or uncertain times as the holidays approach. There are many simple ways to design and create a thankful tree, as well as several fun items that can be made into or used as ornaments. Creating and decorating a gratitude tree is a fun tradition that the whole family, classroom, or office can enjoy together! My family enjoys making one every November, so I have several DIY thankful tree craft tutorials on Rhythms of Play, along with a roundup featuring additional activity ideas, which you can view here: Thankful Tree. If you don't have the time or energy to commit to a DIY project, you can use either of these printables instead: Gratitude or Thankful Tree Printable. The new gratitude tree printable also features green leaves for year-round use, and both options include coloring pages. Members of the PLAY CLUB can find these printables in their product dashboard. Log in to the Rhythms of Play Learning Center at one of the links below to access them and print your copies! Invite family, friends, co-workers, or students to write what they are grateful for onto an ornament and place it on the tree to decorate it. Write something on each leaf or ornament to represent someone or something you’re thankful for: a friend, a small act of kindness, a personal achievement, or even a beautiful moment in nature. The idea is to pause, notice the good around you, and express that feeling to increase joy and happiness. Learn more about thankful trees and how to make them HERE--> Best Thankful Trees. With gratitude,
