I love to share arts, crafts, DIY projects, nature activities and seasonal celebration ideas for kids (and the young at heart). We believe in the wonder of childhood, the power of imagination, learning through play, getting outside in all seasons, and co-creating a life you love--one rhythm at a time!

Hello friends, Seasonal change never happens all at once. The natural world is always shifting and changing. A brighter morning light. A gentle breeze that feels slightly warmer on your skin. These are the subtle clues that tell us one season is slowly making way for the next. Now that Imbolc has passed, people in the Northern Hemisphere will notice the world slowly changing to Spring over the next few weeks. Especially those in the warmer regions, like my family and I. Even if the ground is still frozen and covered with snow where you live, there is usually something stirring, calling you to pay attention to the changes ahead. But spring doesn't rush in; it tiptoes quietly. With each new day, spring brings a bit more light and warmth from the sun, signaling the miraculous changes to come. Although the green hasn't come back to the deciduous trees quite yet, everything is beginning to feel fresh and new. These changes become even more noticeable after the spring equinox. The light feels a little brighter, the sun a bit warmer, and the air begins to smell alive again. In the Southern Hemisphere, the rhythm is just as rich, only reversed. Autumn arrives like a deep breath. Leaves slowly begin to change from vibrant greens to autumn hues. The land begins to rest, and each gentle change reminds us to slow down. Life turns inward, both outside and at home. Nature lovers and explorers of all ages can find meaning in these early in-between moments. The space between seasons is full of lessons. It teaches patience, awareness, and respect for change. Most importantly, the edges of the seasons teach us to be here now. To pay closer attention to each moment, each bird song, each new bud. A daily or weekly walk outdoors can become a simple ritual. What appears different today? What new sounds do you hear? What feels the same? Can you smell anything different? Children notice these changes with their whole bodies. They sense the temperature shift before they can name it. They spot the first blossom or the first fallen leaf. When we pause and notice with them, we create space for connection, curiosity, and growth. When we slow down with them, we help build a lasting connection to the natural world. No matter where you live, Mother Nature is always speaking. You don’t need to rush ahead. Just step outside, look closely, and invite her to share her many secrets with you. She's always whispering something. No matter how crisp the air feels some mornings, my daughter and I are noticing the Signs of Spring blooming everywhere in Northern California. As always, we love pointing out each spring-themed clue that tells us spring is slowly making its way into the world. 🌱🌦🌈 If you are a member of the Rhythms of PLAY CLUB or have previous access to either of the spring scavenger hunts, you can get a new copy in the Nature Scavenger Hunt Library. May you have slow walks, open eyes, receptive senses, and a smooth transition into the season ahead, no matter what it brings. With love and tree hugs,
