Winter ❄️ or Summer ☀️ Celebration Ideas ☃️❤️

Hey there,

The solstice is almost here!

The solstice occurs at the same time this weekend across the globe; however, as many of you already know, the season you welcome depends on the side of the equator that you live on.

This year, the December solstice will occur at 15:03 UTC on Sunday, December 21, 2025. This means that those of us in the Northern Hemisphere in the US will experience the winter solstice at 10:03 am EST and 7:02 am PST.

Please visit Rhythms of Play to learn more about the Winter Solstice and find fun ways to celebrate this astronomical event. I just finished updating this informative article yesterday, so there may have been a few changes since you last had a look.

If you live in the Southern Hemisphere, the ideas in this article about the Summer Solstice include activities that those in the southern Hemisphere can do to celebrate.

My family will also be celebrating the memory of our beloved dog, Shadow, on the solstice. It's his birthday, but he passed away this November, so we'll celebrate his memory by going on one of his favorite hikes and lighting a candle next to his photo at sunset on the solstice, along with a few of our other favorite solstice traditions.

Enjoy the change of seasons, no matter what life brings, or where you are in the world...

Keep your light shining and your spirit soaring!

Blessings,
